Sanft rötet sich der Horizont im Osten
und frühe Vögel grüßen froh den Tag.
Als Morgenwachen sind sie auf dem Posten
und singen, zwitschern hell in Feld und Hag.
Vom Fluss herüber trägt ein leichter Wind
Motorgeräusche, Schiffe, die nun fahren,
nachdem sie zeitig schon gestartet sind
vom Hafen-Kai, wo sie zum Löschen waren.
Ich sitz‘ auf der Terrasse still am Tisch,
mag auch den Sonnenaufgang jetzt begrüßen,
die Tasse Tee hier trinken; ganz für mich
darf ich dies‘ Tagen hier beschaulich grüßen.
Schau nun gelassen in den neuen Tag
und sorg‘ mich nicht, was er noch bringen mag.
